CARSTAR and Omaha Beef Team Up for Make-A-Wish

(OMAHA, Neb., March 29, 2008) – Fans of the Omaha Beef indoor football team will have a chance to compete for a new Dodge Ram truck beginning on Saturday, March 29, at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

Nebraska’s CARSTAR Quality Collision Repair Centers and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nebraska will sell entry forms for $1 until halftime at the next six Omaha Beef home games. Fans who fold their entry sheets into paper airplanes and fly them into the bed of the truck at halftime will qualify for a chance to win the truck at the final Omaha Beef home game on June 14. At that time, qualifying fans must land their paper airplanes through the sunroof of the truck to win.

At the end of the truck giveaway, CARSTAR will present the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a check for the amount of money raised. “At halftime of each game, we will bring the truck out onto the field, and hopefully the air will fill with paper airplanes,” said CARSTAR Business Development Manager Steffanie Stiles. “The Beef usually get about 5,000 people, so you can imagine what will happen if everyone buys an entry form.”

“I am excited to work on such a cool giveaway,” said Angie Kros, volunteer coordinator. “Make-A-Wish volunteers will be selling entry forms throughout the games. During halftime of the first game, a Make-A-Wish Child named Mitchell and his family will come out to the truck and describe how his wish was granted.”

Mitchell is a 15-year-old North High student who suffers from Asphyxiating Thoracic Dystrophy with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. Last year, he and his family visited Disney World through the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nebraska.

At the March 29 game, at halftime the prize truck will be joined on the field by the CARSTAR Super’Stang. The CARSTAR Super’Stang is the centerpiece of a nationwide, 18-month fundraising tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Super’Stang, a rebuilt tribute to the legendary 1967 prototype Ford Mustang, will be sold at the Russo and Steele Auto Auction in January 2009 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. The Super’Stang has already raised more than $180,000 and covered more than 35,000 miles on its specially designed trailer.
