CARSTAR Super’Stang Gears Up To Grant Wish For Local Make-A-Wish® Child
(KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 19, 2008) – The MoKan CARSTAR Business Group, composed of 16 stores surrounding the Kansas City area, will pit stop its recreation of a legendary 1967 Mustang on May 19 at the CARSTAR Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Kansas City. The tournament will be held at the Staley Farms Golf Course, 10310 N. Olive Ave. in Kansas City, Mo., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“This is our 15th annual charity event and we all decided that a golf tournament would be a fun way to benefit such a wonderful organization,” said CARSTAR Business Development Manager Jeff Bontrager. “Any way that we can continue to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and help grant the wishes of such deserving children, we will.”
Bontrager said he expects more than 120 tournament participants at Staley Farms Golf Course and hopes to raise $5,000. The money will be presented to Jennifer Diaz, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas City’s program director, at the tournament’s closing ceremonies scheduled between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The CARSTAR Super’Stang, created by CARSTAR and one of the country’s leading restorer of Mustangs, Jeff Yergovich, is the centerpiece of an 18-month fundraising tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This 1967 prototype Ford Mustang will be sold at auction in Scottsdale in January 2009 to benefit the Foundation. The tour has already raised more than $180,000 and traveled more than 35,000 miles.
The 545 horsepower CARSTAR Super’Stang will be on view at the Staley Farms Golf Course at the entrance to the clubhouse from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
