(COLUMBUS, Ohio – July 11, 2008) – The CARSTAR Super’Stang will join more than 6,000 hot rods and more than 10,000 fans for a weekend of racing, showing and parties during the 11th Goodguys PPG Nationals.
The Super’Stang, a beautifully rebuilt 1967 Mustang that tours the country raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will be accepting donations at the Ohio Expo Center on July 11-13. The 11th Goodguys PPG Nationals features rods, customs, muscle cars and trucks from 1972 and earlier, along with the annual Friday Night Drags at National Trail Raceway on Friday, July 11 beginning at 2 p.m.

The Street Challenge Autocross will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registered participants will have the opportunity to drive their own hot rod through a timed course to test their driving skills and see how their car handles a performance situation.  There will also be a huge Swap Meet and Cars for Sale Corral, Goodguys hot rod seminars and parties with live music on Friday and Saturday nights, according to Goodguys.

“We have worked really hard on making this event happen,” said Bob Haner, president of ColorMagic CARSTAR and chairman of the Columbus CARSTAR Business group. “We hope to get many car enthusiasts to come out and raise a lot of money for the local Make-A-Wish Foundation.”

The CARSTAR Super’Stang, created by CARSTAR and one of the country’s leading restorers of Mustangs, Jeff Yergovich, is the centerpiece of an 18-month fundraising tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This 1967 Ford Mustang will be sold at auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., in January 2009 to benefit the Foundation. The tour has already raised more than $180,000 and traveled more than 35,000 miles.

The Columbus CARSTAR Business Group is sponsoring the Super’Stang’s visit to Columbus. The Columbus CARSTAR Business Group is comprised of ColorMagic CARSTAR and Stiffler CARSTAR.
