National Fundraising Tour has raised more than $180,000

(RENTON, Wash., July 24, 2008) – Bob and Linda Bjorneby’s nephew Derek was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 16 years old. While undergoing treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Seattle for injuries resulting from a seizure, the hospital staff notified the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“Make-A-Wish of Washington helped Derek when he needed it the most,” according to Linda Bjorneby, president of Bob Bjorneby’s CARSTAR Federal Way Collision. “The laptop they gave him let Derek reconnect with his friends, his school and his life. Now that we can give something back to Make-A-Wish, we are very proud to do so.”

The Puget Sound CARSTAR Business Group, composed of 15 stores surrounding the Seattle area, will pit stop its re-creation of a legendary 1967 Mustang on July 24 at a charity golf tournament to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Washington. Tee off is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Maplewood Golf Course, 4050 Maple Valley Highway in Renton, Wash.

“This is our third charity golf tournament and we are hoping to raise about $10,000,” Bjorneby noted. “The tournament is open to the public and we are anticipating 144 golfers, so we are expecting to have a big event.”

The CARSTAR Super’Stang, created by CARSTAR and one of the country’s leading restorers of Mustangs, Jeff Yergovich, is the centerpiece of an 18-month fundraising tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This 1967 prototype Ford Mustang will be sold at auction in Scottsdale in January 2009 to benefit the Foundation. The tour has already raised more than $180,000 and traveled more than 35,000 miles.

The 545-horsepower CARSTAR Super’Stang will be on display at the Maplewood Golf Course throughout the day.

The Super’Stang will be attending another fundraising event in the Seattle area during the week of July 23. Look for the Super’Stang at a networking event on Wednesday afternoon in Edmonds, Wash.
